An Apple for the Teacher Blog Hop!

Hello friends! Happy fall!

We've joined up with some of our favorite blogging friends to share some apple ideas, giveaways and some freebies too. One of my favorite things to do in the fall for kindergarten is Apple Week! So.. when I heard we were blogging about apples, I was excited to share what has worked in our classroom!

There are so many fun and educational things to do during Apple Week..
We have each child bring in an apple and we sort apples! Sort by color, size shape, stems, stickers....

Measuring:How many apples tall are you?

Graphing: Our favorite apple

Estimating: How many seeds are in this apple?

We apple stamp fall leaves and decorate our fall tree.

How many apples up on top?
Amazing Apple Adjectives!
We also have some fun centers to do during our Apple Week!Would you like to win one of them? Enter our raffle below. Here is a peek into what is included.  Fall Literacy Centers and Fall Math Centers.

The Wheels on the Bus

Hello! Last week was our first full days in kindergarten! These first weeks really test your stamina .

I like to start out with some easy peasy activities for the new kinders to do.
So....We work on colors and sing songs, read books and do activities.
The books I use to go along with the different colors are:
Red:  Clifford the Big Red Dog
Orange:  a poem The Big Orange Splot
Yellow:  Pete the Cat and the Wheels on the Bus
Green: Green Eyes
Blue: Blueberries for Sal
Purple:  Harold & the Purple Crayon
Black: Ten Black Dots
Pink: Pinkalicious
Brown: Brown Bear, Brown Bear
White:  Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes

Here are some activities for yellow day....We followed directions and made our own yellow school buses.
We created our first class graph on How We Get To school! We used the Getting to Know You With Pictographs product!
