Tricks & Treats Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to our Tricks and Treats Blog Hop! We are happy to be joining up with Mrs. Plemon's Kindergarten blog along with many fabulous blogging friends to let you know of some tricks we have used in our classrooms.  Of course we will also have a treat  with our blog hop today too! (So keep reading ...) This trick comes from Rick's room! It is his magnetic word wall! How
GREAT is this?! As teachers we are always trying to find a creative way to teach sight words and have our students use these words in their writing! Well, Rick has created this magnetic fence for his students to easily be able to come up and pick a sight word they need to use and then return it back in it's correct spot.

Each word under each letter is a different color! This is very effective! When a child asks where is the word at, you can respond that it is the blue card under the letter Aa. There will be no other words under the letter Aa that are on a blue card. All letters are the same so all words will be easy to find and direct students to.

This number line fence goes along with the word wall fence theme! So cute!
If you would like this Word Wall you can have your choice of Color Coded Sight Word Circles or the ones shown Business Card Color Coded Sight Words which are designed to fit business card magnets.

Another fun trick from Rick -This has worked great with his students so far this year. He drew a frown face on the bottom of each marker as a reminder to keep the markers HAPPY. It makes it easy to check if caps are on.
Here is a little treat for all of you who have visited, click on the picture below for a sight word freebie.
